Had an interesting situation this week where we could not decide if a ball was out of bounds. My drive was pulled left and landed about five feet from a cliff that was clearly out of bounds. There were three white stakes that collectively created a curved perimeter mirroring the cliff but our playing opponents claimed that you have to draw a line from the two most distant stakes. sort of like the hypotenuse of a 90 degree triangle and thereby discount the middle stake. In this case the ball was clearly out of bounds. Which is the correction ruling?

In Mature women who golf
At Fore! Sixty we are committed to giving our golfing sisters the respect they deserve as over 20% of the mature golfing audience. The game of golf has not always been fair to female golfers who are often stereotyped for being slow players. Not sure there is any secondary or even anecdotal data to back that up. And we know there is a lot to learn from female golfers who are much smarter about sun protection including use of sun screen, and wide brim hats and typically have a short game finesse to be envied. This is your forum and we promise to do everything possible to nurture and respect each and every perspective.

On the original drawing board Fore! Sixty was going to be Fore! Fifty. We liked the alliteration and the fact that golfers fifty and over albeit overlooked in our opinion, represented more than half of all golfers. But our research including both anecdotal and online Survey Monkey surveys told us that golfers in the fifties did not feel "compromised" by slower swing speeds, reduced flexibility or less stamina among other issues. We felt there was some denial in that but golfers in their fifties have a different mindset than us mature golfers. And most in that group are still working and active parents whereas many golfers sixty and over are retired and reside in smaller households. Indeed by the time someone reaches sixty and especially 65 and 70 there is no denying that we don't hit it as far or that our vision is still 20/20 or that back aches and joint pain are somebody else's problem. Golfers sixty and over, male and female are a unique tribe defined by a pretty tight set of core values and beliefs. For us Golf is Life..more than just a game but a pastime and passionate social endeavor. And this forum is for all of us in that group to weigh in and enhance the game for our fellow avid appreciative mature linksters.
